Jolene
FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
A Southern California native now based in Boulder, Colorado, Jolene Peterson designs celebrations around the world with a thoughtful, highly personal approach. Her career in luxury events began with Mindy Weiss Party Consultants, the same team that produced her own Springtime Art themed Bat Mitzvah years earlier and first sparked her love of gatherings done beautifully.
Jolene is endlessly inspired by new places, new collaborators, and the creative challenge of bringing a celebration to life from the ground up. Known for her calm presence and intuitive understanding of people, she works closely with each client to shape celebrations that feel distinctive, personal, and deeply memorable.
She grew up in a lively Jewish family with two sisters where gathering was simply part of life. The kitchen was always full, the table always expanding, and celebrations were never small.
Today that same spirit fills her own home. Her husband cooks and mixes cocktails while her daughter Esther often helps craft the finishing touches for a table set with care.
Those moments of gathering, the warmth, the laughter, and the stories shared late into the evening, are what continue to remind Jolene why these celebrations matter.
Our Team
Mariah
STUDIO MANAGER & LEAD PLANNER
Mariah Burke joined the Laurel & Rose team in 2018 and quickly became an integral part of the studio’s creative and production leadership. Rising from event assistant to Lead Planner, she now oversees celebrations across the country and around the world with calm confidence and thoughtful attention to detail.
A graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Special Event Management and Sales, Mariah brings both formal training and years of hands on hospitality experience to her work. Those early days in restaurants and food and beverage shaped her deep understanding of service, anticipation, and the fast paced rhythm of events.
Known for her steady presence and quick thinking, Mariah guides each celebration with clarity, care, and a genuine love of bringing people together.
When she is not traveling for events, she enjoys time at home with her husband and their two young sons, always ready for the next adventure.
Sarah
PRoduction & Design
Growing up in a massive Cajun family who gathered loudly and often, Sarah knew from the ripe age of ten that a career in the events and weddings industry was for her. She fostered her love for creating atmospheres studying interior design in college, and soon moved from Denver to Los Angeles to put her skills to use. Her resume spans from designing multi-million-dollar events and planning celebrity weddings, to coordinating fine-dining catering for thousands and producing headlining performances alongside event Technical Directors.
Sarah truly lives and breathes events, even meeting her husband while working the Grammy's 49th After Party. They currently reside in Portland, Oregon with their two children and two cats, chasing waterfalls every chance they get. Her favorite days are the rainy ones with Dark Wave tunes cranked, pulling fabric swatches and drafting CAD layouts for hours on end.
