A Summer Camp Love Story came full circle in Hudson Valley

R + A’s wedding weekend at Cedar Lakes Estate was a joyful return to their roots - a love story that began at summer camp, reimagined as an elevated, multi-day celebration rooted in nostalgia, connection, and intention. From the moment guests arrived, the experience felt immersive, playful, and deeply meaningful. Every activity, design element, and detail was planned with intention.
The festivities began Thursday evening with a Mediterranean-inspired welcome gathering at the Treehouse, featuring open-flame grill station, flowing drinks, and an outdoor movie night under the stars. Friday delivered an unforgettable lineup: an epic Color War (our highest participation ever), a relaxed lakeside lunch, and a heartfelt family Ketubah signing, followed by a “Date Night in Manhattan”–themed rehearsal dinner and after party. Hosted in the brand-new Cedar Lakes Estate Glasshouse, the space was transformed into a sultry New York–inspired supper club lounge — dubbed the “Counselor Lounge” complete with dueling pianos, magicians, layered lighting, and rich textures.
Saturday was designed for lakeside fun before transitioning into an elegant black-tie celebration. As the sun began to set, guests gathered by the lake for a ceremony that felt intimate, emotional, and utterly timeless. Even with one unplanned hiccup (the ring fell through the deck slats and onto the lake shore, retrieved by an eager groomsman moments later!), it felt like a fairytale. From there, guests found their “Camp Superlative” escort cards and made their way into the completely transformed barn for dinner and dancing well into the wee hours — warm, energetic, and full of joy.
A weekend that honored where R + A began while celebrating everything ahead.
